Sealed Inner Primary Bearing?
Hey guys I have a 1987 FLHS Electra Glide Sport and I am in the middle of a inner primary job. What happened was that my front pulley got loose and I'm pretty sure my inner primary bearing walked out as a result. I am currently replacing the pulley, quad seal, big seal on transmission and was wondering if I should go with the sealed bearing? Has anyone used it and if so did the sealed bearing leak? I have Primo Rivera sealed bearing i was thinking of installing, are these any good? the S&S non-walkable inner primary race is not available for my bike so I guess I can either go with the sealed Bearing I have or go to the Harley dealer and get a new stock race and bearing and seal? Anyone who has gone through this with advice would be greatly appreciated!

I was having a problem with my '95 Ultra after the install of a 113ci motor. The inner primary bearing wanted to walk out and cause a leak.
To answer your question, I went with the sealed bearing and have had no more problems even after 20k miles.
IMO it is a good deal, especially if you need to remove the inner from time to time. In my case, I kept eating the tranny bearings. Bakker fixed that!!!

Sorry to bring up a dead thread, but, does anyone have pictures of the race with the primary cover off. My buddies 92 evo has a tranny leak from between the primary and tranny and from my searching this seems the obvious culprit. The race appears to have walked a quarter inch or so from the tranny into the primary and the seal on the shaft is loose between the race and the tranny.
