Try your local SMALL hardware store. Like ACE or Do-it-Best. Our local store has all the bolts in both stainless and chrome.

the stainless hardware you'll find at the local ace hardware isn't even grade 5, actually it's pretty soft. it's easy to twist out the center out of a button head stainless allen, but they're easy to polish and don't corrode. if you google gardner wescott, they have just about any type of bolts you'd want, and great quality too. if you attend any large street rodding events, they have a booth that travels the circuit. just have a list of sizes you need in high quality real chrome.

If you are going to use a stainless bolt into aluminum use anti-seize. The two metals don't like each other. They like to corrode together over time.

Was thinking I'll do all the engine bolts first(in polished stainless), is there a kit or do I need to piece it out?

I see your in Michigan. Give Gardner Wescott a call 800-521-9805. You can get them in a kit or piece by piece.

I like Hot Toppers and think they look great. Anything that looks good isn't always going to be without some effort on occasion.

They look like chrome buttons really. I prefer the look over a chrome/stainless bolt/nut any day.
Best part is that you don't have to remove good bolts. You put these little plastic chrome deals on and it keeps out the water and hides the zinc. Too Easy.

Cons:
The bolts/nuts on the heads get hot enough to melt them so find another product for that area.
You'll loose one here and there for whatever reason; however, tell hot toppers and they will send you free replacements.
When removing them, the chrome will chip easy; however, tell hot toppers and they will send you free replacements.

I've been running them for years with no problems other than what I've already mentioned.

Done with hot toppers:
