I have duals with the thundercones and I think they sound great. Super loud though, so if you ride in a group you usually have to sweep or hear everyone bitch about it. ha ha.

Now I have a 103 limited with Vance and Hines power duels and Thunderheader slip-ons. The slip ons are not as deep but almost as loud.

That sounded great.... I had thunder cones on my 2007 and I tried something different with my limited (high output vh).... I'm going to replace with some thunder cones again. Thanks again for the vids!!!!

2-1 or duals, I don't care. Still the best sounding exhaust system going and they perform. If you run duals bending the tabs out on the baffle does help in the low end department, gives alittle more back pressure.

I saw a post on that somewhere, I can tell ya, the seat of the pants dyno can tell a big difference from Rinehart slip ons to thundercones.
I talked to my tuner tech and he said I should wait until summer to put it back on a dyno and get it recalibrated.

Here is what mine sounds like with the cat still in the headpipe.

So what r u saying? Rineharts were better seat of the pants feel or thundercones?

arkeglide 01-26-2011 08:06 PM

let me clear that up,

The Thundercones or Thunderheader slip ons seem to have added more power over the Rineharts

Now that i can believe. My 06 88 inch sg with thunderheader 2 into 1 had more oomph than my 07 96 inc sg with v and h true duals both had stage 1. This was judged by my butt dyno.

The basic idea of the Thunderheader (is) the header. The 2 into 1 for exhaust scavaging(Spl/chk) purposes. As others have stated, you get a similar sound w/slip-ons, but lose that torque (& H/P)that the header creates.

I guess some people don't like the looks of a TH on a Bagger. The rear pipe hugs the profile of the rr/cyl and leaves that open gap. Plus theTH that fits a Bagger is way longer. They are not the prettiest pipe (Not meant to be). My personal favorite though (Pro-Pipe is next).
I can't really see running the ghost, but if you're dead set on dual exhaust-go for it. Plus you lose that gap behind the motor (That clamp they use is a little strange. In reallity, the LH pipe on a stock one is little more than a ghost pipe. 80 % of the exh exits out the right. I do like it when I see a ghosty on a bagger and the LH pipe outlet is all new & fresh. Looks funny. 10 min w/some masking tape & flat black spray paint.

I do realize that the 2 into 1 header is ideal, but I'm really sure the baffle design they use is part of it too. The cones have the same baffle as do the 2 into 1. Which BTW is pretty impressive looking if u have ever been able to look thru one before.
