At what age would u take the kids

My daughter started at 5 years old. I had bought myself a Buell when I got home for Iraq and could walk again. But as she got close to 5 years old I decided I would sell the Buell and get a little more kid friendly bike. Washington State law is minimum of 5 years old and must reach the foot pegs. I ended up with a NightTrain that I riased the pegs on, installed a large backrest and saddle bags. She rode with me for 3 years on that bike. I even took her to and picked her up from Pre-School on her 5th birthday. She thought she was soooooo cool riding on that bike. I did buy one of those kid harnesses for her when we went on long rides (over 30 minutes) and also on the freeway. She would fall asleep on the back of the bike sometimes too but with her harness on I didn't worry about it too much. I was a single dad during this time so it was a fun way for us to spend time together too. I got married 2 years ago and traded the NightTrain in on a Roadglide and my new wife got herself a Sportster too. So now we go on rides as a family. My daughter enjoys riding a lot and has her eye on the wifes Sportster too. We have told her we will keep it for her and when she is 16 it is hers if she has good grades. My daughters first helmet was Harley youth one that she wore from 5 until she was 8 for people looking for riding gear.
On a side note I have that helmet and harness for sale if anyone with young kids is looking.

Daughter LJ, first ride about 16-18 mos; she loved it, matter of fact, she had no prob letting me know that it's "my bike"! That was overseas on my hardtail and she sat between the wife and I so not much chance of losing her. Back in Fl. now and since my bro has a tour pack she rides with Uncle Steve on his Ultra and breaks my shoes about "when am I gonna put a TP on my SG"? That's when I get to send her to go ask mommy, she's the 'money' boss! Anyway she's about 3 or so in the pics on the back of the ultra and wants to go everytime she hears a bike start up. She'll be 5 this Aug and already spends more time looking at bikes than I do
