What did you do to your bagger today?
Checked the torque on the rear axle nut. Used a new tool - Pit Boss real axle nut wrench (36mm) so I didn't need to remove exhaust. Worked like a charm and easy to use. Had to use a socket extension but everything checked out and torque wrench worked well with the pit boss.

I bought some front, black, OEM turn signals, from someone here. I now know why they were only $100... They have dim *** yellow led’s, hard wired in the bullet housings. Makes it impossible to use my Dynamic Ringz inserts, inside the black bullets. So, I improvised... I used my chrome bullets, with the new black mounts. But, in order to do this, I had to cut, slice and solder the wires back together, because you can’t pull them out intact. I actually love how it turned out.
Also, I finally got around to changing my chrome passenger floorboard mount, to the black one I bought last year

I did my first 3-hole oil change Fri-Sat. Yeppers, it took 5.5-hours over 2-days because I put the oil filter on too dang tight from the previous oil change.
The filter is hard to get at on my '16 FLHTK, so the ol' screwdriver thru the filter didn't work (at first). I ran to hardware & auto stores to buy stuff for the various hacks I found on YouTube, to no avail.
So off with the shifters and my inspection plate. Turned the front wheel hard to the left, out comes big screw driver & hammer, with one small window to work thru. Three sets of holes and those 1/8th turns and she broke loose.
First thing in the morning, pour the fluids in and put on the derby cover. And wait for it......I stripped the last 27-torx bolt as I put it on.
And the cherry on the dessert....rode in 52-55-degree temps all day because the near 70-temps did not materialize. And I had to stop and buy some cotton gloves because I took my riding ones out as it was 98-degrees two days ago.

LOL I think we can all relate to a "simple" job that is not so simple - at least you have a sense of humor about it! I have many stories where I turned the job into a total cluster. Next time will go much smoother I bet!

I do think you took it to the next level though.
I made a tool up for my sportster, that I hope will work on the Ultra for my first oil change. Its ratchet driven and works by wrapping a nylon belt around the filter, and the harder I ratchet, and torque the strap, the tighter it gets. I have a commercially made one I use on my truck, so the concept does work. Just have not used it on the bike yet. The truck one was too large to fit even the sportster.
Hope it goes better next time around. I have found that when I over torque, even the special end wrenches just spin.
