I can't say I can recall anyone making a big deal out of dropping the scoot while practicing slow speed drills. Most I have read were bonehead moves in front of the dealership, forgot to set the stand down, etc.
The majority of us have done one of those drops and it is a moment. Not because of damage or lack thereof but because it was a mental midget moment.
Even so, if you are going to drop that many times in one practice session might want to cut some old garden hose and wrap the guards.

Hang in there! The only way to master the keyhole is to practice it! I took my brand spankin new '11 Ultra down and ran through all of the basic motor officer cone courses yesterday. The courses were set up because we have a basic class going on right now. I couldn't help myself, they were all gone to lunch and the cones were just calling out to me!

If you are going down you are likely doing it too slowly. Amp up the RPMs a little while in the turns and as said before...head and eyes.
Not to brag but I've done RLAP course twice and have done all of the maneuvers without dropping the bike. (ok. I am bragging a little). I've been riding for nearly 30 years off and on though.
Practice, practice, practice. You are likely also mentally seeing yourself drop the bike while in the maneuvers. Think positive while doing them. It'll go a long way in success.
