Default Hi-Vis Rain Suit Any Good?

I'm picking up a Hi-Vis rain set tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has had issues with it? Like poor breathability, leaking, tearing - anything? I'm referring to HD p/n 98275-08VM

thats the set I have......so far they have yet to see any rain (a good thing)......went from FroggTogs. Like most other sets I fear these will have poor breathability and hotter than hell when worn.....I really liked the FroggTogs because they breathe so well but offered poor visibility.....I learned that late one night on a two-lane twister riding thru Colorado in the rain.........

Generally speaking, rain gear is one area where HD is usually pretty good. I've had a PVC rainsuit of theirs for over 10 years and it worked fine and held up well over the years. I just bought a new set of rain pants because they have nomex panels on both legs vs HD on one...and because the old one must have mysteriously shrunk in the past 10 years.

The features on the Hi-vis are better than most suits available on the market, reflective tape works great. It does keep you dry as long as you have the front flap sealed good. I left just the top open around my neck and of course it leaked. When zipped properly and flap secured entirely it works as designed. It's breathable more than some because of the mesh liner, but there is no venting per say(vents leak).

It's a very good suit for the money and offers great visibility in poor weather conditions. It is on the warm side but mine has kept me dry several times.

At it's price point it's hard to find one that has better features.

It doesn't breathe, but nothing short of Gore*Tex will. It's a great rainsuit for the money.

I was actually thinking about getting this rain suit. Glad someone asked about it.

I ordered this suit last weekend. Think it was around $150, and the features you get for that are pretty good. The H-D Gore-Tex rain gear cost at least twice that...

I ordered it for the 2009 911 Memorial ride, which for me is a 3,000 mile round trip. The morning we left Somerset, PA for Arlington, VA it rained like a real frog choker. The suit kept me dry the whole way. We ran into rain again on the Arlington to NYC leg and again on the Sunday morning we went to Ground Zero. The only complaint I have about it is somehow the inside of ny right thigh must touch the rear y-pipe and I melted a hole in the pants below the wear panels. Other than that it is the best rain suit I ever wore.
