Ok, I got my race tech kit in with 1" lower kit and gold valve emulators and 15wt. fork oil done and in. Took it out for a ride twice now and had it up to 100 MPH and no death wobbles. 21" front and 18" rear with 200 rear tire. I can still feel a very very slight wobble which I am writing off as tire flex due to the 200 rear on a 5.5" wide rim. I also spoke with a tech at Performance Machine and recommended that I may want to go back to a 180. He informed me that the 200 will have less flex on the 17" rim because it is 6" wide. But what I am feeling now after lowering kit is not enough for me to want to buy a 17"x6" wheel or convince me to run out and buy a new 180 for the 18"x5.5". I will wear out my 200 and then make that decision.

Mine is 2009 with a 21 up front 18/ 180 in the back and no wobble. Two off my buddies has 21 and 17/200 no wobble. I've been on their there bikes to see if there was a ride difference, no difference in ride quality.

We all three ride 80+ all the time on the highway. Bike handle great at top speeds. We are all running progressive 940s on the rear.

Eric...you started with the 21 F and stock 16 R.....what about an 09 that already has 18 F&R and might want to go with a 21F??? have you or anyone else heard any problems with that?

glad I found this thread. I have an '13 RG that before new wheels had NO wobble issues. I installed a set of Sinister Fat Daddy 52 spoke wheels 21/18 and all of a sudden the bike wobbles bad at speed. I am running ME880 tires both front and rear. I was told the bike would be smooth with these wheels. I am planning on lowering it soon. Seems to have helped a few of you out. I am almost certain it cant be the wheels as there must be thousands running this combo..(be it PM, RENEGADE, HOGPRO) Any info would help.

Im running the same combo ooops hello everyone ..bad manors. I have 2011 FLTRX 21" front ME880 and the Stock 18" 180 rear New rubber Michelin on rear. Have the DW at 55 or slower ..brought to shop $300 bucks tightened or adjusted neck bearings fall out said slight help but still have DW at a about 35. Now that I see the lowering info ( rebalanced front with rideon checked rim alone static less 1/4 ounce ) it's a wabble not balance issue . I'm curious to know if from what I have read that the lowering kit removed the DW sounds very plausible. Curious to see if 1Radtoy got relief also ....let me know making me Nuts
Thanks for the Help ..LJ

I've had the bike over 100 with no issues, but this particular time I too was catching up to the pack and hit about 90 when all hell broke loose. Ive spent the last few weeks researching this issue. I've checked neck bearings, tire pressures and countless other things. Bumped the front tire pressure up to 42psi and that seemed to help a little. But, I think I'm convinced that its the loss of "trail" that effects the ability to stabilize this wobble. I'm also thinking there's something going on with the size of the rear tire in relationship to the front tire ( as described by a previous poster)??? This whole thing has freaked me out so bad that I'm also considering going down to a 19/17 combo like the CVO. Confused
Op this post is on target, your wobble is related to the trail being outside specs.

thats why dropping to a 17 or 16 rear clears the issue up.

Old thread but anyway.

Stage 1 with Andrews 48

Pull to 100 in 4th. Hit 5th and best I’ve done was 112 on correct speedo.

Backed off it was a little wobbly. I got good rubber and a true track now. I’m going to give it a run to 120 minus windshield and Tour Pak. Feel pretty confident that I can hit that 120 mark.

Might be the tires. I put me888 on my 16/19 combo on dyna. At 60mph and up it would wallow around.

Listening to a lot of people's ride reports. There might be something in the tires that's no good. I won't be running that tire again

Even though I love the look of 880's and 888's
