2007 Road King rear cylinder quit firing
I have a 2007 Road King Classic with a PCV. A few weeks ago my rear cylinder quit firing. Threw codes for rear cylinder no combustion and rear cylinder coil / open/ shorted. I checked the rear plug, it was cool definitely not firing. Swapped the plug with the front cylinder. No improvement. The rear plug did not have any fuel on it either. I replaced the coil, no improvement I disconnected the PCV and ran the bike without it, same problem. I reconnected the PCV, same problem. But low and behold a few minutes later I started the bike again and it ran perfectly. Went for a short ride about 20 miles, the bike ran perfectly.
I am now at a loss of what the real problem was and if it is actually fixed or not ? I take long rides in the middle of nowhere and now have no confidence that the bike is reliable. Could it have simply been a bad connection at the PCV ? Will that throw these type of codes ?
Also does a 2007 have limp mode or a rear cylinder shut down mode for heat ?

in late 07 or early 08 a free one time parade download was available for the 07". yes it could be a bad conection,a few have had problems with the pins galling or water, clean it out add dielectric grease and plugg it back in,however there is alot of other posibilities. no fuel on a plugg thats not firing would have me starting with fuel related conectors like the ecm plugg and the injector plugg.
