did you check to see if it was attached with a clothes pin to the swing arm...I think that is how harley gets that authentic HD sound..you know like when you were a kid with a baseball card and a clothes pin on you bicycle...

I was searching the site for noise problems, looked at my extended warranty, called two friends. Every time I moved the bike it would make the noise. I took the bag off, I was sure it was headed to the shop. She was there for like 30 seconds, reached down and pulled out that plate. A friggin plate!

I think I would rather pay the dealer a couple hundred bucks then to listen to my wife tell all our friends how SHE fixed the bike while I was standing their like an idiot.

Reminds me of a problem I had with an old Honda car I had. Every time I got up to freeway speeds I'd hear this "thump thump thump". Couldn't figure it out. Took it to the dealer and they had it for three days trying to figure out the problem. On day three they called me up and said "pepsi ball." Turns out the antenna topper I had on the car was thumping against the roof at highway speeds. I didn't feel so stupid since it took the dealer three days of troubleshooting to figure it out.
