I looked at front wheel bearing before i removed the axle, noticed i could see bearings, the seal was pulled away from bearing and two little "arms " was sticking out,ypu could see them by just looking at where axle comes out of wheel.
went to a bearing shop today with harley's wheel bearings for front & back with abs,no luck on abs side, but got a number for non abs side 6205-2rs,$10.00 each
Today I was going home from work and noticed a grinding weird sound coming from the front end. I stopped immediately and noticed that the front right wheel bearing had lost it's sealed and 3-5 ball bearings. I had 3 more miles to go and finally made it home. Aren't sealed bearings supposed to last more than the 15000 miles that I have on my 08 Streetglide????
That was a bad era for Harley bearings, as my Buell's all went South as well. There are no substitutes for the ABS bearing, from what I have read, as they are an H-D special. On the other hand the plain bearings are standard industry and probably made by every bearing manufacturer. I get my tyres installed at my local Yamaha dealer and they had bearings for my Buell in stock.
