Default Can't Find a good radio!!!

Looking for a radio for my Dragonfly fairing. I have tried the sony xplode model and the Kenwood KDC-BT848U. The sony skipped when playing CD's. The Kenwood was much better but skipped also. I like the features of the Kenwood but looking for something better any help is greatly appreciated

Forget buying CD players. Find radios that play solid state media like flash cards, or USB thumb drives... no moving parts, means no skipping...

ALPINE! Over the past 20+ years Alpine has been the go to brand for me. I have tried others, but always go back.

This is the one I'ma gonna go with. Sony DSX-MS60 Marine Digital Receiver. Pop the ipod in the tray and roll on.

+1 on the Sony. I have the DSX-S200 non marine version, with the iPod tray, and it rocks. Lots of cool features, and I only paid $130 on flea bay. iPod only leaves the tray to load more music.

Hey Monstermile, I've been told by more than a few radiophiles, not to waste your money on marine versions. One of them is a well known bike stereo vendor/installer who just happens to be a forum member...... Hint, hint

Really??? Why is that?? Is it overkill to do a marine head unit. I just figure there would be less of a risk for water to get in around the faceplate and cause corrosion.

When you guys switch to an aftermarket radio, what are you doing for handlebar controls? I have stuck with the stock HK (added ARC 6.5 speakers and amp as well as XM) to keep the controls on the bars.

I'm not sure, but I don't think the marine version is set-up to use handlebar control, would be OK for an add-on fairing.

I used the BIKETRONICS kit for handlebar controls. Only one that offers AVC, .....if you like/need that !!
