Old thread but still extremely valid and valuable. Bought my FHTK 2010 in January. Spent yesterday PV tuning for some mods to the Monster Ovals needed for civilisation purposes.

This morning puddle of oil underneath. Sure enough - exhaust hanger bracket loose with oil seeping from rear bolt. Three sump bolts also loose. Hope that fixes it

Extra special thanks to all as on this fine Sunday morning I am riding 800Km from Paris to Munich and was not sure I should go. Also great the bike sent me the oily message before I left.

Best wishes to you all

Those are the only 2 bolts I have ever found loose on my bikes.

What about the nut on the seat that connects to the handlebars?

Is amazing how well these forums help when needed. I was really considering not travelling today, the oil puddle(s) looked too big. I didn’t think a search would help and when I saw this thread calling out the hanger bracket I thought it would be a wild goose chase. Laying under the bike to get a view of them I could see the oil seepage from around the bolt. Brilliant. After 10 hours in the saddle and 900Kms there is not a drop of oil under the bike (acid test is checking in the morning of course) and here I am in Munich instead of Paris.

Thanks again everybody
