Solo I run about 15 #. 2 up about 25.
If I am going through the twisties I like a little more. Too little air in the twisties mean scraping the road with the floorboards.
I have the HD hand pump. It is better than a bicycle pump in the way it disconnects from the valve without allowing a drop in pressure. You can, also, easily add -or remove- one pound if you want. And sometimes, one or two additional -or less- pounds is all you need for the perfect ride.
So yes, I adjust it as the need calls for.
I also relocated the valve so I do not have to fight the saddlebag to access and adjust it.

I run 17lbs solo and 27lbs two up on my 09 Ultra.
I'm about 158lbs dressed and the wife is about 135.
If we travel heavy , I run 35 lbs for the trip.
Both tires at 40lbs.
Progressive suspension likes 1/3 travel for sag , so that's what I started with.
There is quite a difference in ride , and it's worth getting it right to start with.
I use a Harley pump , and feel it's a must have tool for the bike.
If I'm riding in an unfamiliar area , I run 19lbs solo for road crud and potholes , and the occasional "whoops I entered that turn a little hot!"for more ride height.
