RoadGlide Ultra from a Heritage??
So this is the kinda stuff that goes on here in this part of the forum?? JK. When I traded for my '08 Heritage I thought this is gonna be my last bike; this will be the one I keep forever or at least the rest of my days. But I'm thinking about swapping it for a new RoadGlide Ultra. Park them side by side and the Heritage is prettier but ride a few miles and this Geezer would choose the Glide every time so I was just gonna throw this out and see what you guys with this experience thought??

Here's my advice to you. Buy it and never ger on another Heritage again! I traded my o7 Heritage for an 07 Street Glide and I had all sorts of fond memories of the Heritage...llike an old girlfriend years after the break up where you only remember the good stuff. My wife got a Deluxe and I had to take it to the dealership...and my decision to move on to the new hot girl was confirmed.
The only thing I miss is the seat...some have better seats than others

I know where you are coming from...
Last year I traded in my 09 Heritage for a 11 RGU.
The Heritage had 2 things going for it,
1) I don't think there is prettier bike on earth than a tricked out Heritage. It just looks like a Harley is supposed to. All that chrome and leather really gave me a stiffy!
2) It takes a while to realize this, but you can't see the front wheel on a Road Glide! This doesn't sound like much of a problem until you try to load a RG on trailer with a narrow ramp. Then you will find out how bad that sucks!
The RGU takes all other categories
1) The suspension and rubber mounted motor eat miles, and then come back for seconds.
2) Electronic cruise control.
3) Stereo, CB, intercom, Wx.
4) Nearly unlimited storage.
5) Much better wind control.
and on and on...
Thats my opinion anyway...
Below is a picture of my ex. Like I said she was one pretty bitch....

I traded a 2006 Electraglide Classic for a 2011 Road Glide Ultra. The difference was night and day! The stability of the new frame, the 6 gallon tank, ABS, security, cruise, 6 speed, 103 motor, were all wonderful. But the Shark nose may be what I like most. I ride a lot of 2 up and 700 mile weekends. The RGU is the touring king!

Everything you said is so true. The Heritage is Harley personified. But as you can see from the signature block I pulled the trigger today and won't look back. I was amazed at how strong that 103 motor is. Thanks to all for providing some insight into this difficult decision.

Do you want to ride or look good?
I went from an '87 Heritage to a '95 RoadKing to an '05 Classic to a '12 Ultra Limited. Have no desire to go back.
If you put in the miles, the "touring" models are called that for a reason. If you do just a few miles a year, style might be more important to you.
