I sold my '02 Road King this past July. It was all blacked out with aftermarket 18" wheels, 95" kit, Black Rinehart duals, Detachable fairing with stereo, detachable backrest, etc, etc. 13,500 miles, and all receipts for $13,000.
Bike had a lot of extras and was REAL clean.

I sold an 02 fatboy this April for $9500, despite more than $30k invested. Buyers market to be sure. I would not pay more than 11.5k. Send him a message through eBay. When he responds, if you hit reply it should give his home email. Tell him your number. If it doesn't sell on eBay, expect contact after. That's how mine sold. Like most owners, he probably has an emotionally based optimistic view of the bikes worth than is realistic.

Great advice. Don't get too excited and overpay. There are a lot of bikes for sale. This bike is nice but has a few miles and no motor work. Streched bags and wheels doesn't make it worth that much.
Watch the auction, if it doesn't sell, talk over the phone. That way he knows your serious. Too many weasles with low ball offers by e-mail.
To answer your question. $11,000-$12,000 would be a fair price. Good luck!

$11-12K is what I was thinking was fair. We've emailed back and forth. I'm going to be in his town for work on Wednesday so I'm going to try to go take a look at him. I'm in no hurry and am full aware that it's buyer's market right now.

Does it have the matching rear wheel or stock? Are those one piece full bags or extensions?

It's an 18" solid mag in the rear. Bags are Ness stretch bags, not extensions.

This is kind of a tough one. I stock RK with those miles is worth around $10,500. And I know that the general rule is add-on mods don't contribute to value, but that bike has been so modified that it isn't a RK anymore. I could see it going for $12,500 to someone who wants those mods.

better off going 09 or newer and doing your own mods. 88cu in and only a 5 speed with the ol frame ain't worth it jmo

The guy won't budge off of $14,000. No thanks, I'm out.
