Default How many here wear a High Visibility Jacket?

I'm thinking about getting one. More and more people are acting like they can't see me coming down the road.

When I was younger I thought it was only cool to wear black leather or denim. I'm now 60 years old and don't care anymore.

So, I am looking for something bright orange and reflective.

I have to wear a 'hit me' vest when riding to work (military base). Haven't really noticed a difference in people trying to run me over whether or not I have it on.

My father-in-law has a hi-vis rain suit. It really makes a difference in being able to see him through all of the road mist, when out on the highway.

I have a blue rain suit, but after riding with him in the rain, I may get one of those instead...

When I was active duty, I had to wear one and I honestly don't think anything helps.

I have road a lot of bikes and had unobservant dumb asses pull out in front of me on all of them.

The only solution I ever seen was for me to just assume that absolutely no one can see me. Every intersection I come up to, I assume the cage is going to pull out, and I plan for it as best I can.

When on the interstate, I stay away from EVERY ONE, and I never ride on anyone's quarter panels.

I really do not believe it is possible to make ourselves anymore visible to the cages.

We simply have to ride smarter, and expect the idiots to ignore us.

I have an armored Cycleport kevlar hi viz. The knucklehead that crowded me into the tunnel wall sure didnt see it, but that kevlar and armor sure saved my *** (as well as my arms).
