Oh boy ... New FLHX

Oh Boy. Looks like I just did a deal for a Big Blue Pearl Street Glide. Stopping by on the way home from work to have a final look and put down the deposit. Think I got a decent deal, and a decent trade on my '09 Deluxe. Should finalize it all Saturday. I'd post pics, but a) I don't have any and b) seems like everyone and their mother has purchased a Big Blue FLHX recently, so there are a ton of pics on here already.

Having the iPod adapter w/ saddlebag mount/cables, BOOM amp/speakers, hidden antenna, painted inner fairing and chrome front end worked into the deal and pre-installed.

Cowboy Rob 01-11-2012 03:03 PM

Congrats, that BBP in the sun is beautiful.

luc.who 01-11-2012 03:09 PM

Congrats on the new X. I like that blue color.

quickster47 01-11-2012 03:10 PM

CONGRATULATIONS on a beautiful new bike. Having the inner fairing painted will make it really outstanding.

Nitrochicken 01-11-2012 03:15 PM

Congrats bro. Rode a softail for years but pulled the trigger on an FLHX 2 months ago. How the hell did I survive before? lol

murph 01-11-2012 03:35 PM

Keithhu 01-11-2012 03:43 PM

Demolitionman 01-11-2012 04:47 PM

If I would have waited until 2012 to buy my street glide, it definitely would have been the blue. Congrats man. I have looked back since getting mine.

Simonizer 01-11-2012 05:00 PM

Congrats, cant wait to see pic's.

Northwoodz 01-11-2012 05:32 PM

If you don't mind me asking....what did they give you for the Deluxe (and how many miles on it)? I have a friend about to do the same thing, and he has an absolutely rediculous number in his head.

Nicky Pass 01-11-2012 05:53 PM

How much for the extras. I was so excited to get mine I didn't even think to get some upgrades pre-installed.

storm8732 01-11-2012 06:04 PM

You will love the color and be the envy of many....ask me how I know...

Gruamach 01-11-2012 06:07 PM

My wife keeps toying with the idea of trading her FatBoy for a BBP SG....

I'd still prefer my black, but can't say anything negative about the BBP.
Welcome to the SG family. Hotrodding and comfort at the same time. Gotta love it

mike 1955 01-11-2012 06:40 PM

congrats. nice choice

Fred Garvin 01-11-2012 06:54 PM

Congrats.....ride safe!

dynawideglider 01-11-2012 06:57 PM

Congrats! That Big Blue Pearl is a great color, has to be seen in person to be believed.

I bought a (new) 2011 with the 103, in Merlot Sunglo and with some great mods out the door, 2 months ago. 1300 miles later I'm still saying "wow".

You'll enjoy this ride.........

Lone Rambler 01-11-2012 07:18 PM

I wanted the BBP pretty bad when I bought mine but the wife keep insisting red would be easier to be seen, so I have red. If doing it over I believe I would have took the Blue. Congrats I am sure you will enjoy.

lostsstsol 01-11-2012 07:31 PM

congrats on the Glide!!!

plutnicki 01-11-2012 09:14 PM

Thanks guys

Thanks all, deposit done, deal written, they pick up the Deluxe on Friday.

They gave me 11,500 for the trade, which was just about kbb and nada. They didn't want any accessories, so i'll have a bunch of parts to sell which sweetens it for me.

I got 20% off all accessories, and for the install, since the various "durations" overlap, I got a pretty good deal.

I'm sure someone out there got a better deal, but I'm very satisfied and psyched.

Only pics I got sucked, but I promise to post them to satisfy the cravings, and I'll get more after the goodies are installed.

Texas Fat Boy 01-11-2012 10:50 PM

Great bike, great color and great mods to have done pre-delivery.

Casper 01-12-2012 01:00 AM

Congrats on the new Glide! I remember a few weeks back you were considering it. AWESOME choice! You're gonna love that painted inner fairing and chrome front end! :icon_beerchug:

103 sedona orange 01-12-2012 08:35 AM

Congrats from NoCal on your new ride

traveler 01-12-2012 08:47 AM

Congrats.

Getting the painted fairing and chrome front end kit right off the bat was one of the best moves you could have made IMHO.

Will be interesting to see if you end up with 12" apes down the road. :D

Klock 8.5 tinted windscreens are the way to go.

hoethree 01-12-2012 09:24 AM

congrats! you will love the StreetGlide over the softail Deluxe.......what parts did you keep from the Deluxe? My GF has an 09 and you might have something she may want....

plutnicki 01-12-2012 10:57 AM

hoethree,

I'll send you a PM with the list of parts I removed. The parts came off an 09, so I'm sure they will fit!

No Apes for me, I'm too short, even that 8.5" windscreen looks tall!

And now, because I said I would, crappy cell phone pics!

Congratulations, I'm sure you will enjoy.

plutnicki 01-12-2012 01:15 PM

Joe,

That red did look really impressive, and it's been a long time since I've had a red bike, but I just couldn't keep my eyes of the blue this time around!

Jrsess 01-12-2012 01:27 PM

Good for you!!!!!!

gdanny 01-12-2012 06:18 PM

Picked up my 2012 BBP SG today and all I can say is Wow! Traded in a 2007 Fatboy and can not believe the difference in the ride. Put about 100 miles on her today and can not tell a whole lot about the mods until I get past the 500 miles break in then I can go above the 3000/3500 rpm limit. Had VH pipes, fuel pack, high flow air cleaner, and header pipes (to get rid of the catalytic converter that is now contained in the stock headers) installed before I took delivery. A few other decorataive items added but the performance parts were the main thing. Hope to have some pics to share soon. :icon_headbang:
