There's a little bit of give in the bumpers, but it's nowhere near as smooth as the air seat. It is about 2" lower, though.

The Kong looks interesting. I may have to get another seat frame and give it a try. Anybody have a seat frame they're not using?

PM me.

That's a GREAT looking bike. and it's exactly what i'm looking for. a pd springer style seat with a clean rear end.

If you have a hand pump with a pressure gauge you can just keep the bladder and air line and ditch the air tank.

Can you explain? Are you saying the blader can be modified so that it functions without the tank? Any details? I do have a pump that i use for the rear suspension.

No way, as the bladder can be pressurised to suit your weight, springs are at a pre set rate.
Apart from the backrest it's the best thing I've every fitted to my bike

Anyone else have an idea how this would work or if anyone has tried it?

I just bought a 2012 FLHTP. They swapped the seat out and I am wanting the seat. I found one online that was taen off. I did not know there was an air-tank under the luggage rack. I want the air ride seat without the luggage rack. I am going to look into placing the tank beside the bags or maybe even inside. I am also going to look into the chew toy idea.

There is a spring kit. http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J05609.pdf
