I just pulled mine to do the very same thing. I also am getting the front air deflector painted as well. Looks great!

they look nice painted, can they just be removed? or do they pull air onto the rear cylinder? I don't like mine

I don't have them either & mines an 08. These stopped the heat & I think they look ok. Cheap on ebay. Sorry, don't intend to dis any sponsers just save a buck where i can. Only been on one season so we will see how they last.

My friends 09 can be riddin with shorts if yer into that but my 08 is another story. The Moco definitly cooled it off in 09 with bigger pipes, heat deflectors & better tuning & such. Water Cooling this year tho.....Hmmmmm....

That looks awesome! I'll have to talk to a paint guy I know and see what he can do with mine. The 3m tape would be a good idea on the heat deflectors as well as the oil cooler!!!

Looks nice I never thought about painting them.

I took mine off and like my bike without them all together. To me they don't work that well and the engine looks better more open and easier to clean with them off.
