Default Pacific Northwest dealers

Mrs. spiz is pushing me to get a new touring bike (tough gig but I will comply with the bosses wishes) and I have visited dealers from Bellingham to Tacoma. Could those of you in Western WA or the Portland area give me some feedback on your experiences with the dealers over here?

call over to Big Sky Harley in Great Falls Montana. Great dealer, good selection and the owner Brian is a great guy. He will treat you right and usually has every model in stock at one of his two stores.

Check out Salem Harley. My son-in-law got a good price on a new bike there.

I deal with Sound HD in Marysville for any warranty work and am real happy with their service dept. . But for the 09 when bought new, the best deal was Bellingham. I decided ahead of time on the number that I could live with, bike, options and color. Then e-mailed the 9 dealers that are within a couple hundred miles.

Bellingham got back to me and was close to my deal. I told them thanks but that I was going to hold off and that the first dealer to accept my offer would get a $1k deposit over the phone. They called back in 15 minutes and we made the deal.

My offer was their choice of two possible deals. $1k off MSRP plus $500 dealer gift card..... or..... FULL MSRP plus 7 year ESP with Tire and Wheel. Ended up with the first deal. Then ended up buying the ESP from Jim Palmer at Kutter HD.

This deal was in March of 2009, so don't know what kind of deals can be had these days.

Good luck....

Eastside HD in Bellevue has always treated me more than fair. Bought a bike back in '06 from the old Seattle HD in Lynnwood before it was owned by Eastside and left with such a bad taste I went to Eastside. Have bought four from them since.

Although I was living at the time in Puyallup, I bought both my bikes at Cycle Barn in Lynnwood. Straight shooters. Sales at Destination was shaky, like a used car dealer. Parts and service at Destination are straight up. Nice shot of the brain center building in Las Vegas.

I'm in Utah and saved enough at Salem Harley to drive over and pick it up. Bought it over the phone and when got there, everything was exactly as we agreed. Great guys to work with.

Default NW HD dealers

Sound HD is my dealer and where I purchased my Street Glide in 2009. I get all my warranty work done there, too. I do buy all my HD accessories from Skagit HD in Burlington because they give 10% discount to military.

I had a good experience with Sound and I'd be a return customer if ever in the market for a new bike.
