What they said! But DON'T get a fancy HD cover. Save that for the garage. Get a lightweight generic cover, they are compact and won't act like a neon sign saying "Harley here for the taking!". I've also never had an issue. Also suggest you use the dummy cord on that disc brake lock. Just sayin . . .

Enjoy the trip!

I have been all over the USA and Canada over the years. I have never had room to carry a cover with, but other than that I am onboard with the other posts. Park in a well lit lot, lock things up and go inside. Never had an issue.

Exclamation +1 on the disk lock!

If you have the factory security, use it, get a disc lock if you don't have one and use that, lock the forks, get a cheap cover (outta site, outta mind), and park it in a well lit, easily seen parking space. If somebody really wants to take your motorcycle, their gonna get it. All you can do is make it as inconvenient for the theif as possible.
The #1 deterrent is lighting, a thief doesn't want to be seen.
Enjoy your trip. Don't let this ruin it for you.

If you are traveling with a buddy, a cable lock between the two bikes makes them much more theft resistant.

I just make sure our room is on ground level near the exit and that the parking lot is well lit and park the bike just outside the room. One time there was an issue with the parking lot lights not working. Parked the bike right
