Anyone with SE 203's cams in TC88, MPG question

Prior to cam install this winter I was running SE intake, slip on's and stage one download. Now, with all of that still I installed a set of SE 203's. Bike runs great but I have gone from low 40's to 32 mpg.

I figured I was going to have some loss in mileage but that seems a bit extreme. Sucks to have to stop every 150 miles to fuel up especially since I have some long trips planned this summer.

Just wondered if anyone has the 203's and what they are getting?

Thanks.......

What are you doing for a fuel map? Are you still on a stage one download? You should be on the stage two map at least.

I'm getting 33-35 mpg depending on how hard I hit it

A proper tune should get you at least as good of MPG as you had before. Quality of fuel will affect it too. I installed Andrews 48h cams in my 2010 Ultra, 96 CI. It was stage 1 with SEPRT. I went with TTS & hauled it to Docs Performance Tuning in Mineola Fla for a dyno tune. We drove almost 1000 miles round trip to get him to tune it, no other reason for going there. I was getting 38 to 40 MPG before all the work. Bike runs like a totally different bike now, pulls very hard! I got 43 MPG on a Cherohala Skyway ride this week, running BP 93 octane. Its all in the tune bro.

I forgot to mention, this Cherohala trip was ridding 2 up!

My 95" Big Bore Stage II with 203's got 46 mpg. ( The same as my new Andrews 26 G's.)

I'd check your tuner.

Thanks, only tune I had was stage 1 download and that was prior to cam swap.

Although my '99 TC88 had a Carb, I first had the SE intake, and SE Slip ons. Then after 2 years installed the SE203 cams when replacing the cam bearings - mileage after the cam install was the same as before. Since everything you listed is MoCo, dealer will have proper download for the combination.

My old '02 RK 95" 203 cams, Rineharts, & powercommander used to average 42 all the time.

Wait for warmer weather. I put 555's in and the mileage sucked. I took it out yesterday afternoon when it was a lot warmer and picked up 5 mpg. Winter mileage sucks.
