I also have the 103 SE stage iv on my '09 SG, I believe it has the 259 cams in it,58 throttle and ThunderHeader 2:1. It lopes at idle and ripps when throttled. The dyno number I got 104hp and 103tq

I am really happy with the results of the kit I think it"s a very streetable setup, bike is very responsive instant power. For the way we ride that is mostly highway at "Im just going to say" a little above the speed limit! LOL the setup is great! I just need to fix the drivability at warmup. My son and I remapped it yesterday need to take it out for a rip to see how it goes.

The problem isn't too much cam for the street, my SE 120R has lot's more cam than the SE 259 and it has excellent manners on the street. In fact the SE 259 is one of the cams I considered for my bagger when we did the stage II work.

The problem is the tune, a download or base map won't work as well as maps developed for your particular combination. They get you close, but don't address the issues each build seems to have.

Yeah you are right but I think he thinks there is gonna be a magical download somehwere out there. Ain't gonna happen with the 58 and those 2.1" intake valves.

Texas FB I already had the ThunderMax on the bike before I had the motor done, I figured with the wide band O2 sensors the autotune would get the max power from the setup. Im having to tough time with finding solutions. TM is saying the 58mm tb is no good and that it has shaft play which leads to the poor warm up issues causing the IAC to be at 0. My HD dealer is saying the TM is the problem. First of all there is no play in the shaft what so ever, just because that there were problems in the past does not mean they were not corrected. Second why would the sest allow the engine to funtion differently during warm up with the narrow band O2's?

I have two friends with a ThunderMax tuner.
One guy swears his works perfectly (and probably does) and he uses the Auto-Tuner.
The other guy faught with his for 2 years and it never did work right. It did run like a streak of chit when he gunned it though.

Im a guy that swears by it too my bike with cams pipes and airbox mod ran awesome. I just wanted more thats why I went with the stage 4 and I got it the bike rips but I know its not running right at warm up, the numbers on the program shown it. My brother and several friends have them too with no issues and swear by them.

There has to be some smart Thundermax guys out there with similar engine mods that got their Iron running right?

Still waiting on my stage 4, since March - dealer says the TB is the hold up. Any idea why?
