Rick, I am very pleased with the Oval Slip-Ons. They have a rich, deep sound and are not so loud that my neighbors sneer at me as I am leaving the driveway. While I was considering various mufflers, I called V&H and they told me that the Oval Slip-Ons were their quietest muffler. Matched to the FuelPak, they do an excellent job.
Everyone eventually will buy either a PCIII or a SERT. The Ovals are what's on my bike and I continue to get compliments on the sound. I also use true duals.
I too have the V&H ovals. Not annoyingly loud, but they bark when you get on it.Plus I'm using the fuelpak. It's fine till you get into more modifications.[sm=smiley20.gif]
I had one on my FLHRC when I first bought it. This winter I had A stag 3 kit done and tried to use the fuel pak. After about 10 calls to V+H about the way my bike was running we kept changing the setting. I finally went to my local dealer and bought the screamin eagle super tuner. Now my bike is really preforming.. I had no problems with the pak on my stock motor with just a stag 1. So for those of you out there that are having motor up grades done, save yourself alot of time and effort and DON"T USE the fuel pak.. Talk to you all later, I hear my bike calling me.
I've got the fuelpak, V&H Ovals, and SE Stage 1 AC. Bike runs fine...about 42-44MPG on the Ultra, no backfire problems. Sound is good, get enough compliments. I'll probably move to a PCV later this year though to see what I can do with it.
i had one on my bike when i first bought it i took it off because it had a flat spot in it and it never ran right but that could just be the one i had you might have better luck
Is a FuelPak or Power Commander or Sert all items used in addition to having the dealership tune it on the dyno? I am getting mine with V&H pipes and an air cleaner installed, and they will do the dyno thing, but is that enough?
Thanks!
