I'm Bummed Out
 

My insurance expires tonight, and I don't want to give ICBC $250.00 for the minimum 3 months coverage. I thought about doing a full years coverage with a monthly bill, but I won't get many days riding in over the winter.

I guess it will have to be the odd weekend permit for the next 5 months!

WOW...$250 for 3-months - I pay that for an entire year...crazy!

USAA full coverage for 12 months is 275.

CDN insurance scheme is different. the US insurance cannot be compared, it is not "apples to apples"

OP you can drop your coverage and take the risk on yourself, or pony up.

you knew what the costs would be going in so just decide what works best for you.

when I was in TO i had coverage year around for a short riding season.

You can always shop around for coverage, ICBC is not your only choice



now I have a long riding season

That is for liability coverage only and with the maximum safe driver discount. I get my collision/fire/theft from a private insurance company.....another $450/yr.

Dude, I'm in BC too. I got my insurance through a place in Salmon Arm called Beacon Underwriters. I was paying $205 per month through ICBC. With Beacon, I paid $350 for a full year, and it covers storage, breakdowns, tows, hotels, and gear!!!

Now I pay ICBC $75 per month on top of that. I'm just gonna cancel my ICBC coming up soon, as the Beacon insurance covers storage insurance!

I got all of this done through my insurance broker. Check it out, I saved a buttload of $$!

I agree with the "WOW" comment, $250 for 3 months of liability coverage? I pay that for a year of full coverage, including road service.

Seriously OP you are getting screwed, do they use K-Y or vasoline, and give you a kiss?.....Geeeeze I only pay $305 per year for full coverage that includes road service and towing!
