How much real power differance in 2 into 1 and slip on mufflers
On a normal build up of exhaust change, air cleaner ,and a 255 type cam how much real power and torque differance between slip ons and 2 into 1 exhaust?are the 2 into 1 pipes really worth the price differance?talking mild motor for torque in 1000 to 4500 rpm range.

By 'price difference' I assume you're talking about the difference between the slip-ons, and the 2-1 pipe by whomever. All I can say is that when I went from my 'true duals' to my 2-1 D&D Fatcat, I picked up close to 10 HP, and 13 Ft. Lbs. torque as measured on the Dyno. I can definitley *feel* the difference. Picked up some decibels, too, but for that increase I can live with it. YMMV.

I must be missing something when you say, "are the 2-1 pipes worth the money"?
A Vance and Hines Pro Pipe cost $600. That's the pipe and muffler together for just $600. I just bought the V&H Power Duals for $520 + another $400 for my RCX-Haust slip ons. That's $920 MSRP. You save money by going to the Pro Pipe. I chose the Power Duals for performance and looks. I wanted to stay with 2 pipes coming out of the back of my Road King.
Maybe other 2-1 pipes are higher priced - I'm only familiar with the Vance and Hines 2-1. I had the Pro Pipe on my 2010 Street Glide and now have the Power Duals on my Road King. Both are good products in my opinion.
I attached the dyno graph for the 2012 Road King with Power Duals, RCX-Haust slip ons, S.E.S.T. and Ness Big Sucker air cleaner. FYI

You are comparing the price of a pair of mufflers with the price of one muffler and a new pair of pipes! Not much difference from what I can see. A 2-into-1 collector system will give best torque for the range you mention, that is my experience.

I see slip on mufflers for around 250$ and most 2into 1 systems seem to go for around 800$.there are a few going for around 650,pro pipe being one of them.but 250 to 800$ to get little in return for the differance in power is what I was wondering.10 hp,13lbs of torque would be worth it,4 or so I would stick with the slip ons.

Hi GR. I thought that your first point would have been obvious to the OP, so I didn't make it in my response, but it's worth making nonetheless, I suppose. I notice that the people making the LSR exhaust especially tend to deride the 'aluminum butt plug' pipes, such as the Supertrapp, but if it's working well for you, then if I were the OP I'd give it serious consideration, as I respect your opinions and experience. I can say firsthand that the D&D with the louvered baffle is a loud pipe, and definitely not for everyone.

I had an 06 with 510 cams rinehart td pipes ,and went to a pro pipe, what a huge diff in power. then another 06 with hooker slip ons no cams, it was a pos. Now I have a 2011 103 and got rinehart slip ons then found out about cat in head pipe cuz it ran and sounded like crap. 9Not that sweet rinehart sound) so I now run a pro pipe h.o. and the power and sound is night and day from slip ons. BTW the pro pipe has sound when you jump on it and is great when going down the road.Just my experiance

Stock head pipes? Cat ?
What 2-1 what slip on? It all makes a diff.
With stock or 255 cams they are so short, its hard not to make all the tq down low with any exhaust .
A good 2-1-2 or some true duals ...with good mufflers will out perform most 2-1's on a stage 1 or stage two dresser. More volume.
What you used to see on the 96 ci baggers , just isn't true with the newer 103's with 2-1-2 exhausts and good mufflers.
