I use a Garmin Nuvi 750...it's outdated...obsolete and discontinued, but it does everything I need and even has a built in MP3 player. I can plug it into the aux imput, listen to my tunes and still get my turn by turn directions thru the stero. They can be had for cheap on Flea-bay,

Have a Garmin Nuvi 500, they are discontinued now but I've seen them on the Internet both new and "reconditioned". Waterproof and easy to get RAM Mounts to put on the bike.

You can get a couple NUVIs for the price of a ZUMO. Me? I have a ZUMO....and a NUVI.
I have used the NUVI in a few rain storms.....hasn't failed (it IS behind a windshield).

Thanks to all! I don't have an iphone and am not likely to get on anytime soon. A larger, but not huge, display is a plus since I don't see as well as I used to.

Looks like it's coming down to Nuvi or ZUMO

There is no perfect GPS solution. It depends entirely on you and how you ride. I used to be perfectly satisfied with a $125 Garmin. Until it left me stranded in Ohio.

If you rarely go more than 300 miles from home, your needs are different than someone that routinely travels 700 to 1000 miles at a time.

What makes sense to one person can be quite different than what works for another.

The wife and I put on close to 30K miles a year and being able to see a XM weather map is priceless to us. So to us, the zumo 665 works very well.

Copilotgps.com is perfect for all androids and iPhones. You don't need a data plan or phone service to run it as all maps are stored on board. I've tried almost every gps app and this is the best one for me, it's accurate, fast and has never steered me wrong (pun intended.) You can play your iphone's music and this app will mute your song and announce your next turn, merge, or whatever. It's a free app so it'll cost you nothing to try it, as for me I don't think I'll ever need to buy another gps again.
