Need paint advice and sources

Converting my 03 RK Classic FLHRCI to run hardbags instead of the leather covered plastic they come with
I found and bought some hard bags from a 04 Road King but I need to paint them first
My first question is:
How much paint should I order to cover both bags, 2 coats ? Do I also need a reducer or hardener? ( I read somewhere I did)

Where is best place to get the paint? I need Gunmetal Pearl 98603 BDT Apparently it is harder to find as is 100th anniversary model. I am OK with a non HD source too, esp because of the for sure higher price!

I personally like 2 stage paint, base coat / clear coat. The gunmetal Pearl may be a Tri-coat with the Pearl.

The easiest would be to buy it from colorite, but they are expensive. If you do a search, there are threads on here that list the ppg paint codes for just about all of the colors. It will be cheaper to go that route.

Typically the base coat will only use reducer, and the clear will have the hardener. You won't need much paint to cover the bags, you can get away with a 1/2 pint of base.(the 1/2 pint will mix 1 to 1 with the reducer, so you will have 1 full pint to spray)

You will need more clear than that becuse most clears don't get reduced.

Hope this helps.
