I've been staying on my bike and filling it up. Never thought of some of the consequences. I just did it that way to be quick. Maybe I'll swtart using the sidestand.

Side stand off the bike, for reasons stated above.

Always on the side stand for reasons already mentioned. Even on my Sportbike, I would always use sidestand.

And you really think you can outrun the explosion? If there is a spark when you touch the tank, you won't even here the BANG!

DC.

PS Sitting on the bike, upright. And yes, I know about the gas/******** thing.

i never sit on my bike white fueling....they say there is always a chance you can create a spark and ignite. also just for everyones info...you should always make sure the gas nozzle is always touching the metal opening to ground it from sparking....obviously SIDESTAND

I use the stand as well. BTW, on another post, people were made to know that it's a "jiffystand" not a sidestand or kickstand. LOL

its not about outrunning the explosion, its about preventing it....by making sure the nozzle IS in contact with the tank it will prevent the spark ant create one...

I may not be able to outrun the explosion but I at least want the option...
