Default DarkHorse Man O War *COMPENSATOR* my loss your gain

I have a dark horse man o war compensator sprocket. It's the 34 tooth version, which is same as stock. Bought it from fuel Moto for $505 4 days ago. Installed it on my twin cam because I thought my screaming eagle compensator was going out. I put this in and the noise was even louder. I've tried to figure out what the issue was but it seems Compensator wasn't the issue, having to tear apart primary to locate issue.

I would love to keep this man o war compensator because for the 100 miles I rode the bike with it installed, throttle response was greatly increased as well as finding neutral and shifts were much more positive. But the primary is too noisy with it in there, and I need money to fund pulling apart the primary and replacing other parts to figure out why it's so loud. So putting the old compensator back in.

$400 +$20 shipping conus... My loss your gain. Save yourself $85. I'll be uninstalling it on Monday... and ship it out Tuesday to whoever purchases.

Also to explain what exactly this is. The SE Harley compensator uses "ramps" to compensate. This is a different design where it is more of a solid sprocket with a rubber cush drive system. Meaning that you have a much more positive and connected feeling to the bike it just feels more like it should. Also you'll never have to buy another compensator, these are rebuildable, they sell a $40 rubber rebuild kit. Instead of having to buy a whole nother $500 compensator like all other brands. I have friends with 20,000 and 30,000 mi on these so I know not junk.

This is very solid information. Thank you. I went through the same problem. I wish I saw this before I sent it back. You should really start a thread on this, as it seems to be a widespread problem.

I may have a bearing issue. 2015 Ultra Limited. I have replaced the compensator. Noise went away for a while. Now its back. Kind of a whirring sound when I start the engine when cold. After a few minutes the noise all of a sudden goes away. Don't know if it may be the clutch bearing but I am going to check into that. Curious as to what kind of noise a bad clutch bearing makes?
