Seat is sold anyway but to answer your question the mustang will move you forward a bit more than the sundowner. The sundowner cups your rear end more so you really can't move around much and the pillion section is slightly dished and 1" or so narrower than the mustang. The woman did not like the sundowner.

The standard mustang seats will work with either the HD or Mustang backrest. Those seats use the bracket that bolts to the fender. The new Mustang Super Touring seats have a receiver built into the seat and do not use the bracket on the fender.

Everyone is different for sure but to me the mustang is more comfortable than the sundowner. The woman says there is no comparing the two. The Mustang wins hands down.

I've got about 200 miles on a new Super Touring seat and I love the riding position. I always felt cramped on the 2010 Ultra, but not now. The seat however, does come with a drawback or two. It does not ride up as far on the tank or console as the stock seat did. As such, it does not cover the scrach marks that outline the stock seat left on the console. Had to use some 2" non-slip tape to cover the sratched section. Looks alright now. The second drawback might or might not be a problem. That 1 3/4" more room the driver now has came off of momma's end of the seat. She hasn't ridden with the new one yet. I'm not going to mention it. Maybe she won't notice.
