Default J&S Jacks

Bought a trike jack for my 13 trike. Tried to place the jack under the trike but the riser sits too high...it interferes with the exhaust. Went over the assembly instructions, looked at their video...looks pretty straight forward. (trike on the video looks exactly like mine...even same colour). Anybody else with this problem?

Default Information

I assume you bought a "new" J&S jack and are using it on your 13 Tri Glide. The instructions and videos on the J&S site are not as good as they need to be. I tried to get them to update them when they came out with the new design for trikes about 1 1/2 years ago. They had to re-design the jack after the 17 model year trikes arrived. The new model will work for older models and the newer models. However, the jack has to be inserted under the trike from the LEFT side.....not the right side. If this is not your problem I am not sure what kind of problem you are having. Call J&S, they will try to help you. They need to update their video's and written instructions. I haven't checked their site in a good while, maybe they have updated it.

I did buy it brand new 3 years ago. I only put it together in late fall. I'm sure I tried from both sides but I'll try it again if the snow ever melts.

The part of the jack pad that raises after its under the trike has very little clearance. Make sure it's all the way down.

My riding partner who just bought a 2016 Tri-Glide a few weeks ago ordered himself a J&S pneumatic lift and they told him also to insert the lift under the trike from the LH side (opposite of their video).

He was putting it together Wednesday evening so I'll get feedback later this week.

I received my Pneumatic J&S Tuesday, assembled it yesterday, Clearly, you have to use it from the left side, no question about that, I did find something that I did not expect and I am damn happy about it. it came with a manual pedal to jack the bike up in case you don't have air for some reason, useful and unexpected benefit.

My riding partner just got his pneumatic jack and assembled it today.

There apparently is some conflict with the written instructions vs the video and a different jack part for different model year of bikes (as I understand, might be wrong).
Some of their jacks must be pushed under the trike from the RH side and others must be done from the LH side.

My friend called J&S and he's all squared away.

I really didn't look at the assembly instructions, you can only put it together one way with exception to the handle mount and even that really could only work in one position so.

Works good, nice and smooth going up with air and coming down on hydro.

I've had my J&S for less than a year. Love it but was a little afraid the Chinese bottle jack would be an issue. Well, it just stopped going all the way up and the O ring around the shut off valve is leaking ( prolly why it doesnt extend all the way). Called J&S and they will be shipping me a new bottle jack. No push back or anything..Friendly, easy to deal with. I just WISH they went with an American Made bottle jack if only to keep the whole thing Am made.
