Default Birthday Present

my lovely wife has agreed to buy me the tuner of my choice for my 2017 Trike.
im thinking either a PV or FPK 3....
what would be the best and easiest for a novice tuner to install and use?
im planning to remove the cat or purchase a header, rhinehart mufflers, SE breather. I don’t plane on any other upgrades. Doing this for more heat management than performance

thanks for all all your advice

I just bought and used the FP3 and it was super easy. It's the only tuner I've owned so I can't compare. But I didn't want anything connected to my bike (screens, boxes...). And I like how the FP3 uses your smart phone. It was really easy for the tech to send me a custom map for my bike. I'm happy with it.

I bought the Power Vision with Autotune from Kevin He gave me a great price and. I have been a happy camper ever since. Prior to that I had tried a Dobeck tuner. I have to report that I didn't have very good luck with its dependability and after I got it fixed and returned to me multiple times, I gave it away to a friend of mine.

I have owned a FP3 for over a year now and am very happy with it but it , IMO, is strictly for a stage 1 upgrade. If you think you ever will want more, invest in the PV. The FP3 is also married to your system once used so it can't be sold either. I have 2 more years on my warranty at which time I'll look at a PV before upgrading cams and such.

I would go with the PV, because you know you are going to change something else in the future and need a dyno tune!

Just a clarification, FP3 stays on the trike, PV doesn’t , am I correct?

You are completely wrong. FP3 is not needed once you load the map. You can connect it to view the active data.

To clarify the above answer just in case you were asking something else. My apologies if not.

The FP3 does not need to stay connected to the bike. However, the FP3 is only good for one bike. Once it marries to your VIN, that's the only bike it will work on.
