Default My First Trike 2016 Model

Hello All and I new to the three wheel models, I traded my 2018 Street Glide for my new 2016 Tri Glide and I am not looking back. I have already logged about 300 miles and I am getting used to the new way of steering and I find myself liking my new steed. Looking forward to doing some short trips and maybe even a long one out west with my twin brother Don. So far, the trike is everything I thought it would be and I am liking it.

My riding partner has an identical machine to yours.
He's got more "accessories" than I do (I think) but I may catch him someday!

Check out the "Road Trip" thread if you're looking for company on your adventures!

Congrats on the new trike. I actually have the exact same paint scheme on my 2016 TriGlide. I bought mine new and have just hit the 23k mark in mileage. I had traded in a 2013 ElectraGlide Ltd and have not spent one day regretting my move. I enjoy my trike more than I expected to. I had the typical complaints at the beginning of extreme heat and lousy performance but I've corrected those issues and now thoroughly enjoy every minute on it. Of course, some of the improvements didn't come cheap but I think the results are well worth the costs. The '16 TriGlide is an outstanding machine and I'm sure you'll have many excellent adventures on it.

Thanks for the information, my twin is my best friend and we have been riding together all our lives and I always lead and he is always in my right mirror. We have been blessed and seen a lot of beautiful things in this great county of ours. I always tell new riders the same thing, get out and see this great land we live in.

May I asked what where the major improvements you made? I have heard the rear shocks and better slip on exhaust are a must. Any information would be helpful.

Go on over to the DK Custom Products website: www.dkcustomproducts.com and you'll find a wealth of valuable information for making improvements / upgrades and spending your $$$. Seriously Kevin and the fine folks at DK have some great products, information and most importantly care and commitment to the enjoyment of our favorite sport.

My riding partner bought his '16 Tri-Glide used (in the winter of '17) and only rode it 4 miles to his house in freezing weather
We met for lunch one day (his first real ride) last spring and he was telling me about a hard "bump" that he had experienced and that he could still feel it i and that he was starting to regret buying the trike (he still had his Ultra at that time).
He has many medical issues (along with a lot of metal in his body) and the following week he was in his doctors office (chiropractor)being treated due to that initial ride.

I started following the comments about trikes on this website and started giving him some suggestions as to how he might make his trike ride softer and one was the DK Lift Kit and new shocks.
Once he got those installed he said it was like riding a totally different machine and he was thrilled!

Sine then, I've (we've) also bought some other items (tour pack relocation brackets, extended rider floorboard kits, wind deflector kit) from DK that really enhanced our riding comfort.

When I got my '18 last fall, that was on the list of first "mods" that I had planned, along with Heli-bars, a rider back rest, highway foot pegs and a proper height recurve windshield.
I've done many other "add-ons" (mostly appearance items) but getting it (or any bike) to fit the ride properly makes all the difference in the world, especially on longer trips!
