Default Removal of seat

Can anyone tell me if the tour pack has to be removed in order to take the seat off of a 2010 Trike? The screw is impossible to reach with a standard phillips head screwdriver?

You don't have to remove the tour pack. Just flip the passenger pad out of the way; I open my tour pack and flip it into it. Then take a longish phillips head screwdriver and take the screw out. Try not to drop the screw as you remove it; it can be a pain in the a** to find if you do.

Make sure the passenger backrest is out of the way first. Open the lid on the tour pack, lift the padded backpad and fold it back into the tour pack, trapping it under the lid as you close it. The screw will then be fully accessable. A magnetic screw driver is a nice thing to have. Drop the screw down into the works once or twice and you'll know what I mean.

Thank you for the reply. I was able to get to the screw.

Then, after you get it out replace it with a thumb screw. I used one about an inch and a half with a nut (minor clearance problem) and you will never have that problem again

Smile Thanks

Great Idea - it goes in at an angle which makes it even more difficult to reach with a screw driver.

I open the tour-pak, pull the flap of a back rest out of the way and use a screw driver that is about 2' long. The stock seat is a snap to remove and install, the Road Zeppelin I have is a rear bear due to the thickness and size.

Right on with that one! I do like the idea with the thumb screw but where do I find one? Guess it should be 1/4-20 and about one inch long?

Bought mine at either OSH or Lowe's, can't remember but those are the two hardware stores here in the city.
