We go down to the Smokies every year, the Rattler is one of our favorite rides. Honestly the wife prefers the Rattler over the Dragon. I like both equally, but have to admit, the Rattler has more area's to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. Thinking of it now, can't wait to go back next year.
Thank you! Glad you all enjoyed. It is a great place to ride and we had a nice time riding with our new friends.
We should have a youtube up soon. Will post the link in here when it is published.
Kevin,
Two questions if you don't mind.
1. What camera are you using?
2. Going down steep hills with the Tri-Glide, can the drive belt break if you don't ride the brake a lot? I'm use to shaft drive and just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I get on the steep roads.
Thanks

Camera is a Canon PowerShot ELPH 350HS It is a point and shoot and the only setting we use is ASA400, otherwise the shots taken while moving are blurry.
Regarding the belt. A belt can break anytime....knock on wood...I've never had one break.
I don't believe it is anymore likely to break by using engine braking going downhill or level than it is to break when accelerating.
Sometimes I ride very aggressively, including serious amounts of engine-braking when going down hill.
Belts generally break for the following reasons:
Too loose
Too tight
Damage from a rock or other debris
Age and/or many miles (75,000+) of wear
I am pretty sure the wheelies and burn-outs that I do on a regular basis put far more stress on the belt than using engine braking going down, even the steepest, hill.
Glad to see you have the passenger felt heat issue under control!

You can spend a couple of weeks down in the Smoky Mountains and still find more great rides. That is why we continue to go every year.
We stay around the Sevierville TN area and rent a cabin in the mountains. There are plenty of sights out there with inexpensive cabin rental. By inexpensive I mean under $1,000 for 8 days.
