2011 tri glide changes

Hello all, I am considering buying a new tri glide. My local dealer has a new 2010 in stock. I'm wondering if there were any changes or improvements in the 2011. I believe reverse is standard on the 2011, any other changes? Thanks, Bob

The 2011 will give you better pull with 30tooth front pully and diffrent rear door lock.

Maybe this will help.

Here are the 2010 and 2010 Model Year Technical Changes. You will find all the touring/trike/electrical/body/motor updates from one year to the next.

To answer your question. If I were buying a new TG I would certainly purchase the 2011. There were a number of good changes for 2011.

Get the 11, the 10 is a kind of the odd duck. The 11 has better gearing and some nice changes with the trunk lock and the best of all it is about $695 cheaper than both the 09 & 10 with reverse being an option on those two model years.

It took HD 3 years to get the gearing right. The EPA cost us a lot of money and time on the 09 and 10, the gear can't be forgiven. A lot of the 09 and 10 owners are changing the gearing at considerable expense and effort, this should not have been necessary.

I would buy the 11, it is closer to what the Tri should be with the 30T primary pulley. If they had that on an 09 that come without the catalytic converter HD would have been close to an acceptable stock Trike.

I would definately go with the 11 over a 10. Hindsite is always 20/20 but if I could do a do over, I would have bought the 09 and slapped the 30T pulley on it. For my needs it would be close in stock form and I could have saved a few bucks.

Coupe: you hit the nail right on the head. Had the MOCO put the 30T primary sprocket the 09 basically would have been right on. After were done this winter I beleive we will be where we will be satisfied. Next winter all we will need to do is sit back and wait for spring unless M3 gets some more ideas for us to try.
