Default Has anyone intalled the fender mounted bags?

My wife would like to have me install the fender mounted tour bags like on the anniversary model that attaches to the rear fenders. My question is I'm assuming they are mounted by drilling holes in the fenders or do they use 3m tape? Do they have templates for even lineup or do you have to measure twice, drill once, etc. Has anyone installed them?

Many of us here have them. Im sure you will get more replys/suggestions.
To get them just the way you want them to sit, ie:not crooked or slanted, be sure to have someone hold the bags over the taped on template and stand back to see if they look the way you like. You may want to move the template a little to suit you.
Some have had the dealer install them exactly as per instructions and they looked cocked. So use your eyes, take your time, and adjust.Otherwise its a pretty easy instalation.
Also I know a couple have used a velcro/3m tape type mounting instead of drilling holes but I have not heard how it is holding up.

There's a kit that icebite is referring to from, seethroughbras.com, that some have used here that eliminates drilling holes in the fenders & in their add it shows a fellow standing on the bags so it appears the adhesive velcro must be pretty strong.
Maybe the folks that are using this could let us know how it's holding up because if it works it would also allow removing the bags from one TG & re- installing on another without having to get new mounting hardware.
