I got two of them at Sturgis last year. One for my 13 Street Bob and one for a 14 Road King that I had ordered. Have the King in the garage but Vigilante only released a tune for the 14 limited and not the King.

Do you know when they will be released?

I was used to the tuner as I had one for my Ram truck. I would have liked the other models features like 1/4 mile times and the various gauges but EZ is my speed.

My son got the one with the tablet and it works great. He's always checking things with it. His is on a 12 Ultra.

We should have the 2014 stuff within the next month. Once the coverage hits the street, all you need to do is update the device and it will be good to go.

I am glad you and your son like your Vigilante units!

just orderd one for a 2008 dyna superglide with Rinehart Churchill exhaust and K&N filter upgrade is there a program for that combo in the unit or will I have to contact superchip for a setting

patrickd 04-07-2014 05:35 PM

I see the 2014 is set up for the 103's, anything coming for the 2014 110's?

Cool of you folks to do this too.

Does Vigilante EZ 5842 is connectable to the internet to download new maps? Is it possible to move the original map to a pc and save it?
Thanks

beeek 04-07-2014 07:22 PM

Hello, do you have a list of available combo maps? I'm interested but I'm wondering what kind/ how many generic maps are available if my specific combo isn't listed. I'm guessing too that there isn't any diagnostic feature that would tell you how well your map choice is doing? Thanks for the offer by the way!

I checked with our Engineering Dept. A file should show up for you on the device.

The product is internet updateable. New maps are always being added. When you say original map are you referring to the stock file? The EZ saves the original stock file in the device. You can revert back to stock at any time.

We have spent 3 years dynoing and calibrating hundreds of intake/exhaust/model combos. Very rarely do we find a bike with a file that is not compatible. The EZ doesn't feature a diagnostic function to measure how well the map is doing, but most people automatically feel an immediate performance improvement in the way their bike rides once it is tuned.

If you want to monitor/log/and see real time charts and gauges on the tune's performance, I recommend our Vigilante Flash. This wirelessly displays performance data on a Android or iphone.

Cool, ordered one for 08 Nightster

hogcowboy 04-08-2014 09:58 AM

You say it's plug and play, plug where? In other words does it become a parasite to the electrical system like some DynaJet products? Or is a consumer way to do a reflash?

sharpshooter 04-08-2014 10:25 AM

How long is this deal going to go... Im looking at buying a bike next week, would like to add a tuner to the list too...

We have 200 units set aside for this forum promo. Once the 200 are sold, the promo is over.

The Vigilante plugs in the bike's data port. The tune is selected and the ECM is flashed. Once complete, the unit is unplugged from the bike. Nothing stays plugged into the bike. Parasite devices or inline devices are built to intercept signals and fool the bike's ECM. This comes with its own set of problems. Directly reflashing the bike's computer is a more ideal solution. You the consumer can do this in about 2 minutes. You can also revert back to the original stock file at any time.

Great deal for a Stage 1 tuner. I just placed an order. Thanks!

Motorcycle Cowgirl 04-08-2014 11:58 AM

I just ordered mine! I have a super chip for my truck and for my jeep. They have great products!

Old Road Toad 04-08-2014 12:22 PM

Ordered one for my Ultra. Great deal, thanks.

jerryt87 04-08-2014 12:24 PM

So this doesn't work with the 2014 CANBUS bikes? Are you planning on bringing these out for them soon?

pjciii 04-08-2014 12:27 PM

So i can remove my V&H fuelpack and reflash my ECM with your product based on my set up and thats all. put cover back on and GO!
patrick

hogcowboy 04-08-2014 12:57 PM

Two more questions. Are there just canned maps or are the maps customizable with limits? Where are the maps?

Superchips 04-08-2014 01:22 PM

Absolutely!

jojo2dog 04-08-2014 01:41 PM

planning on replaceing fuelpak and xieds that I"ve been running for over a year, on a 2008 dyna superglide, and the bike runs well the way it is, this will eliminate all the extra connections, and leave nothing on the bike, hope it works as good or better than the setup I have now.

pjciii 04-08-2014 01:57 PM

ok, i'm in and ordered. it would be nice to take the extras out from under my seat. if the web site is right i can tune the 2010 ultra and the 2005 nightrain. both were same stock number. is that correct?
patrick

patrick

Correct. However you can't have them both tuned at the same time. For instance if you tuned your 2010 ultra, you could only tune your 2005 nightrain by first setting the ultra back to stock. This can be done infinitely, and it only takes a few minutes. If you want both tuned at the same time, you would need two devices.

pjciii 04-08-2014 03:54 PM

got it, thanks

Mr.Softy 04-08-2014 06:08 PM

I am in for one also. I think it is time to remove the Xieds. What is the warranty of this item? I didn't see any mention of that in the write up.

Loc_Tite 04-08-2014 06:13 PM

So how can I check to see if my configuration has a map ready to load?

chrisfoot 04-08-2014 07:56 PM

I am also interested and did some searching. Found a post that the forum member had an issue with catless headers. Wondering if this is isolated, the tuner is fixed or I will also have troubles.

Would really like to give this a shot...

Oblue10 04-08-2014 09:06 PM

Ok, I purchased one...I had a Harley download after I installed my Rush pipes and Harley Heavy Breather...so the device will save my Harley download into the unit? I have a lot of popping on downshifting and deceleration so this should take care of that right? Will it improve my sound as well or are the maps all EPA focused?

bought mine as well - but i echo Hogcowboy's question - thank you!

mmancuso 04-09-2014 07:39 AM

I'm interested, and when selecting for ordering (2011, Softail, 1584) it came up with the model (Vigilante EZ 5842), but my question is this. My 2011 Fatboy is CanBus, but it was the only Softail that year with that buss.

Will the selected Vigilante EZ 5842 work for me?

LeadSSled 04-09-2014 08:16 AM

Mine is a CanBus 2010 touring model, and it selected the EZ 5841 for me. You might want to call them to be sure.

I would really only recommend Vigilante for mods such as Stage 1 intake or exhuast. Depending on your set up, cat-less exhaust may or may not work. Vigilante also does not tune bikes with aftermarket headers and cams.

We designed Vigilante to be a great solution for 90% of HD riders. That 90% is essentially using an aftermarket exhaust and intake. We may make tuning for advanced mods, but for right now its strictly Stage 1 exhaust and intake.

Unfortunately 5842 would not work on the CanBus bike. The 5841 Sku was designed for Can bikes and 5842 for J1850. The difference is the connector. One has a 4 pin connection and one has a six pin connection.

The maps are stored in the device. They cannot be manipulated.

It will save the stock file. It will overwrite the Harley file. If you are happy with your Harley file you should install the Vigilante. Vigilante is designed to eliminate the popping/downshifting issues. Our products are very compatible with Rush. I am confident you will enjoy the product, but I am hesitant to recommend it 100% unless you won't have any heartburn about eliminating your HD tune.
