Question V-rod muscle - rear tire mod

Anyone tried to use a 280mm wide tire on the OEM wheel for the MUSCLE without modification? Is it possible at all?
Thank you,
LCL

I know you cam get a 260mm in there with no modification. Haven't heard about 280mm, but that seems like it'd be pushing it.

Thumbs up Thank you for the reply

I have seen a 280mm, looks really wide, but I also think it is pushing it too much.
A 260mm will do it in the future.

Thank you again,
LCL

stock rim is a 8.0" so the max tire size you should consider is a 260. You would need a minimum 10.0" rim for a 280 tire so I would just stick with a Avon 250 Cobra or the Metzler 260.

What tire do you guys run for mileage. My stepson has to buy a new tire every 5k miles so hardly rides his vrod any more. Says he can't afford the tires.

Yep! I had a 09 VRSCAW (twice!) I had switched from the stock 240 to a 260 - No problem at all...Had a Metzler 260 on it. Good wear from the Metz

I could have put a 280 on with no problem - but could not go to
a 300mm unless there was a swingarm change

Check out www.1130cc.com they know VRod's..
