Looking for Vance and Hines ovals or Rineharts for 03 harley touring. Thought I had a set found, not as good of shape as I was looking for.

Any particular reason you want these muffles? I bought a parts lot and there was a brand new set in there so I thought I would replace my 4.5 cobras with these. I put them on took a short ride and came home and put my cobras back on. If I would have spent 6 or 700 on these I would have been highly pi**ed. They are extremely heavy and do not sount any better than the V7H standard mufflers.

 

First off, I like the sound of them. A friend I ride with has them on an 05 ultra. So I am assuming that they will be very similar in sound on my 03.
Weight is not an issue, not building a race bike. I have shipped a set of cvo mufflers, screamin eagle street cannons, stock mufflers and an old set of vance and hines twin slash ovals. Every package was between 20 and 22 pounds to ship. Don't remember which was the heaviest.
I have heard cobra mufflers on a stock 03 road king with true duals. I'd be pissed if I spent 5 or 600 on them. Can't recall if they were the same mufflers as yours, but I thought they were obnoxiously loud.
Everyone's opinion is that the ovals sound a little deeper than the rounds.
Makes me no difference if they are ovals or rounds. I just forgot to put I would also be interested in rounds.

I run the V&H power pro pipe & the monster rounds on my 13 Electra that are absolutely incredible. Not obnoxious. I also am running the Cobra 4.5 on my 16 Electra with a decatted head pipe and it is remarkably quiet compared to the V&H set up. I have never paid retail for any exhaust. The V&H setup I have on my 13 I paid 350$ for all of it in excellent condition. The first set of Cobras I found at a pawn shop brand new in the box for 300$ Hope you find what your looking for.
