Hello . There . Can I have some help please .
Hi I have just been checking over my newly purchased bike restoration project and have noticed some sticky glue has been leaking from stator cover? But I am not really familiar with this bike. 1998 evo dyna. With stock wngime unknown kms but was told 39009 miles
iam suspecting a the stator has melted insulation .
My newly purchased project bikeb1998 superglide .
Purchased from an older gent who has been restoring it and has now been passed onto me i plan on completing over time. And gentle riding periodically to keep fresh .
bike is very nice by my standards but is honest 25 year old .
I am finding things that need doing on it which I don't mind I plan to keep for a long time and need a hobby.

That's not the stator cover, it's the ignition pick-up cover and you'll need to replace the the ignition.

Welcome to the HDFORUM.
I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here to.
Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information.
The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.
Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the year.
Of course, you can always add it to any post with a question.
You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature line.
If you like, you can also add a favorite picture for an Avatar you see at the top left of all your post as a postal stamp.
PS….. Questions in the Welcome Area is not the best area for visibility. Appears you may have gotten what you need.
Questions would probably get more comments in the proper area using the dropdown menu title FORUMS at the top left on your screen.
