Default Die Hard Buckeye Scheduling a Mid-Life Crisis...

After spending a few years watching football, raising kids and working too much I am getting the itch to start trolling the streets again. Being from Columbus OH originally (live here in Indianapolis now...) I can remember many a nights rolling up and down High St. on my old CBR 900. I rode that thing till the wee hours of the morning many a time... I don't have that much free time anymore and there's no way my wife is going to allow me to do some of the things I used to do back then (on or off the bike...). But, who cares, I'm in!

This is going to be my first "big bike" and I am really torn on what I want. I've been trolling the forums here for a week or so while at the same time surely driving the local dealer nuts. At first I sold myself on the Fat Boy cause dang, they just look good. Then, the "concern" about the ride for my girl if I have her on the back. Did I mention she carries crap everywhere she goes??

Well, now I'm on the RK Classic, Custom or the Street Glide. The idea of the Classic with the bags, removable windshield, cruise and the hot looks where pulling me in but now I'm hearing so much about the Street Glide that I’m starting to second guess myself. I'll be 40 in a few short months and haven't really gotten used to the idea of riding with a fairing all the time. The reviews on the SG have been so good though... It's a look that would have to grow on me compared to the Classic though.

Fortunately, the dealer is being patient. They are even allowing me to test out each bike if I want. I can't say enough about how good the dealer has been... And, this forum has been great; I really appreciate all the great info people share to help guys like me who are just getting into this. Riding is a passion and I'm ready to get infected again... Instead of slapping on blue ointment though I’ll be slapping on chrome…

I’ll let you know how it all turns out sooner then later. In the mean time I'm open to any suggestions...

Thanks!
