You didn't say where you are from. There are some members here that work at bike shops, so you shoul dpost the town so that maybe one of them can help you. I would also suggest a Virago as a good starter bike. You can get a used one cheap, and ride it till you feel comfortable with something bigger.

Sorry I didn't post where I was from. I live 30 miles outside of Atlanta inJonesboroand guess what? My husband (the greatest man in the world) surprised me with an 07 lowered Sportster yesterday for my birthday. He still isn't really thrilled about me riding my own but he knew that is something I really wanted to do. Now, the riders safety course and I'm on my way. I'm so excited !!!!

After you take the couse, get your bike in a parking lot and learn how it rides and handles. It WILL be different than the MSF bikes. Do that several times for maybe 1 hour at a time. That way it won't overheat the motor too bad, and you won't get burned out from being overly cautious riding at slow speeds. Good luck.
