Default 03 Fatboy Rear Wheel on 04 Electra Glide?

Hey All! Been sniffing around the forum looking for some answers on fitment of a 2003 rear fatboy wheel on a 2004 electra glide. I am doing a ride wright on the front, and want the solid for the rear. Here is what I have found so far.

2003 fatboy wheel: 16x3, 70T pulley, 3/4 axle
2004 electra glide wheel: 16x3, 70t pulley, 3/4 axle

The last bit of information I'm looking for is information on the hubs. Found some information about people having to machine them out, others just getting some HD parts to throw in there.

Can anyone confirm/deny? Any experience in this area?

Thanks!

Don't worry about the pulley, you'll re-use your 2004 Eglide pulley...same mounting. Maybe yours was typo, but the 2004 Eglide is a 1" axle (1" rear 2002-2007) not 3/4", that's why you're reading about boring out 3/4" wheels to fit. Btw that "boring" is just to provide clearance for the larger axle/center spacer sleeve, nothing to do with the bearing bores.

Why are you focusing specifically on a 2003 wheel?

In 2003, fatboy wheels apparently received a slight change in their rear wheel offset, although it may work for you, it won't the same as your Eglide wheel. Most people don't know that and they advertise the fitment being a 2000-2006 rear fatboy...they're not all the same.

Here's some 16x3 REAR solid wheel options that have same offset, use a 21mm wide bearing and will fit your 2004 EG:

2005-2007 Sportster rear solid. No mods needed as they came 1" rear axle.

2000-2002 Fatboy and 2000-2004 Sportster, but will need the center bored as they came with a 3/4" axle.

Thanks for the information. I'm focused on the 2003 because I have a buddy that had one sitting in his garage.
