Default Shimming a front brake caliper

I replaced my front pads and now I have a slight rubbing with the inside pad against the rotor. Where do I place shims on the caliper to center it over the rotor? It is a sporster type caliper. Is it easier to shim the rotor instead?

thanks to anyone who responds?

Don't do that. Depending on the caliper, slight rubbing is normal. It certainly is on a slide pin caliper. Even the new Brembos drag a little.

I agree, don't shim anything.
After a 100 miles the new pads should be worn in and everything returned to normal.
