I have a friend who lives in the Netherlands. He is an expert on Route 66. He's written a book about it, and brings folks from Europe here once or twice a year and takes them on a detailed motorcycle tour of The Mother Road. In Galena KS there is a small museum about Route 66. My friend brought a pair of wooden shoes from Amsterdam on one of his tours which was placed in a showcase.
