Step 1 – Mount to windshield
There are various ways to mount a radar detector to your Harley Davidson Touring. One of the ways you can mount it is by using a suction mount. This mount comes equipped with a suction cup. You just clean the windshield very well, then put the suction cup on it, and pull the lever to remove the air trapped between the glass and the rubber suction cup, creating a tight seal.
Step 2 – Mount to handlebar
The second type of radar detector mount is one that mounts to the handlebar. This is designed to wrap around the handlebar. Simply, remove the screw holding the two pieces of plastic that wrap around the handlebar. Align the mount in the location you want on the handlebar, then attach the lower plastic part, and tighten the screw until it's tight on the handlebar.
Step 3 – Bolt mount to fairing
The third way to mount a radar detector is to bolt it to the fairing. This type of mount requires you to drill into the fairing of the Touring. Drill the proper size for the bolts that came with your mount, then install the mount.
