Harley Davidson has a long history of Touring bikes; their Electra Glide models, still available, in fact predate the availability of Touring focused bikes from manufacturers like BMW or Honda. Nowadays, you can get almost any flavor of Touring bike from your Harley dealer, and within each model, there are often different trim levels and always lots of options. Some will want to tour in top style with all the bells, whistles and comforts, while others might be a bit more basic in their approach. Either way, Harley probably has you covered. Below are the major specifications for some of Harley's Touring bike models, working from least to most expensive.

There are other differences, such as color and option packages, that can be compared at the Harley Davidson official website, but the above specifications represent what we think are the important choices for a Touring bike. Many specifications, including MPG, fuel tank capacity, power and engine details, are identical between these models. Within the audio systems, look carefully at the differences there. You may have preferences for music source type and communications. Things to consider are passenger to rider intercom if you ride two-up frequently. Many of the other variations available are these basic bikes with upgrades, and possibly lower suspension and seat, or more chrome and custom paint.
